SING WITH KCSThe 120+ voice Knoxville Choral Society performs small- and large-scale choral works under the direction of Artistic Director Dr. John Orr and frequently joins the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra. All singers volunteer their services and are selected by audition. Rehearsals for KCS are held on Monday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30, throughout the concert season. During performance weeks, singers are expected to attend additional rehearsals. An audition includes the evaluation of vocal quality, sight-reading, and tonal memory drills. The Knoxville Chamber Chorale, a select group of singers drawn from the KCS, performs more intimate works. Auditions for the Chamber Chorale are open to KCS members and are scheduled by the artistic director as needed. |
