Dr. Eric Thorson
Conductor of the Knoxville Choral Society since 1995 and artistic director since 1996, Dr. Thorson is professor of music and director of choral activities at Carson-Newman University, where he conducts A Cappella Choir, Men’s Chorus, and Oratorio Chorus. In 2003, Thorson was awarded the Distinguished Faculty Award, the highest award given to faculty at Carson-Newman.
Dr. John Orr
John Orr was selected as Assistant Director on July 24, 2013. He is Minister of Music at Community Church at Tellico Village.
Danny Brian is a Nashville native who began his musical studies at Peabody and Blair Academy of Music at age 8. Brian received his bachelor of music degree from Middle Tennessee State University and did his master’s work at the University of Tennessee, where he studied with Dr. David Northington. Brian has performed as guest soloist with many orchestras, including the Jackson Symphony Orchestra, the Peabody Orchestra, MTSU Community Orchestra, the University of Tennessee Orchestra, and the Maryville-Alcoa Community Orchestra.
Andrew Duncan is the Director of Choral Ministries at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church in Knoxville, Tennessee. His responsibilities there include adult and youth vocal choirs; writing and arranging for the worship band and instruments; and worship planning with the music staff and pastors. Andrew is also the founder and editor of Ring-Press, an online handbell music publishing company.
