“Choral music is not one of life’s frills. It’s something that goes to the very heart of our humanity, our sense of community, and our souls. You express, when you sing, your soul in song.”
-John Rutter: The Importance of Choir
Keeping Our Legacy Alive
Documenting past performances of the Knoxville Choral Society preserves our musical legacy and gives the community a way to reflect on shared experiences, artistic growth, and the cultural moments that shaped each season. Detailed records—program notes, high-quality audio and video, photographs, rehearsal journals, and audience feedback—capture the repertoire, interpretive choices, and collaborative efforts of singers, directors, and musicians. These archives allow longtime patrons to reminisce, newcomers to discover our history, and researchers to trace evolving traditions and community impact. Thoughtful curation and accessible presentation ensure these memories remain a living resource that informs future programming, deepens community connection, and honors the creative work of everyone involved.
